The final cross country league race of the season saw a very strong turnout for the men, with 16 hardy FoT runners hitting the starting line. This strength in numbers delivered a really solid 2nd place behind Dulwich and ahead of Croydon. Top preformer was Conan, storming home in 8th position, followed by Steve Hill, Tom Claracq, Adam Fraser, Rich Curling, Haukur Heimisson, Mark Benton, Rob Gray, Simon Kenyon, Paul Seddon, Alex Bump, Jaco Geyer, Dave Matthews, Francis Kung, Mike Powell & Jamie Woodlands. The performance was suitably rewarded with home made flapjack, and a pint in the local gastro pub.
We finished 3rd in the league, but there's enough evidence to suggest that if we can get a strong turnout for all 4 races next year we'd be back in division two.
Great news for the ladies that despite only managing to to field 4 runners, they held on to their place in Division one, so get to fight in the top division again next season. Well done to everyone who raced throughout the season.
Thursday 28th March has been designated a cross country social night at the Rylston after training when we'll be presenting the King & Queen of Cross Country awards, so stick it in your diary and enjoy a beer or two before the long weekend.
