Training - Run

Interval Training

On Tuesday evenings we offer coached running sessions which consist of hill intervals in the winter, mainly at Richmond Park, and track intervals in the summer at Barn Elms running track. These sessions will increase speed and endurance in your running fitness.

In addition to the interval sessions on Tuesday nights, we also offer a choice of intervals or a steady run on Thursday nights as an option before the second swim session.

Long Runs

Sunday mornings are for long runs. We meet at 08.45 for a 09.00 start from Roehampton Gate Car Park cafe. Runners split into groups depending on their speed and distance requirements, so the run caters for all ability levels.

Cross Country and Road Races

Ful-On Tri is an Athletics Affiliated club, so you can enter all road races under the club name and take advantage of a discounted entry fee for affiliated clubs.

The Club also races in the Surrey League Cross Country series. Running cross country races provides a bit of variety and excellent strength training during the winter months. Our progression within the Surrey League will depend on getting numbers out in force. For the men's event the first TEN men across the line count as the A-Team and in the ladies event, it's the first FIVE ladies who count. It then rolls down through B-Team and C-Team depending on numbers. All races take place on a Saturday with the women's race at 12.15 and the men's race at 15.00. The men's races are 5 miles long and the women's races are 6k. There are four races in the series in October, November, January and February.
